AURALIC, Limited will exhibit its MERAK 400-watt Power Amplifier driving YG Acoustics’ new “Flagship” Sonja 1.2 loudspeakers at this year’s Munich HighEnd Show, beginning today.

AURALiC’s MERAK is a remarkable monoblock power amplifier designed with inspiring artistry and ingenuity for the 21st century. Named for Beta Ursae Maioris, a star in the constellation of the Big Bear, 80 light years from Earth, MERAK is compact and elegant. Weighing only 18.7 lbs., it boasts 200 watts at 8 ohms and 400 watts at 4 ohms, and a frequency response of 20Hz-20KHz (+/- 0.5dB). Its sound is sweet, warm and appealingly vivid.
An ideal match for the company’s VEGA Digital Audio Processor, MERAK’s heart is AURALiC’s exclusive Hybrid Analog Amplify technology. The technology uses linear components to handle input signals to achieve very low noise and distortion levels, and high-speed switching components in the output stage to maximize its driving capability and minimize heat dissipation. The result is 400 watts of continuous output power and a 90-percent energy efficiency.
Additional technologies in the MERAK include a patented ORFEO Class-A output module, an input isolation transformer, a linear power supply, an advanced Purer-PowerTM management circuit, and Hypex UcD output technology, which significantly improves the listening experience.

HIGHEND, Munich, May 9, 2013 — AURALIC, Limited will exhibit its VEGA Digital Audio Processor at this year’s Munich HighEnd Show, beginning today.
The VEGA is a next-generation digital audio processor developed to deliver uncompromising high-resolution sound. Compact and elegant, it combines a Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) and a preamplifier that supports all high-resolution music formats, including Direct Stream Digital (DSD) and Digital eXtreme Definition (DXD PCM).

VEGA’s heart is AURALiC’s exclusive Sanctuary Audio Processor, which is based on a multi-core ARM9 architecture. Its calculating capability of 1000 MIPS/second is ideal for handling multichannel high-resolution music. As a result, VEGA delivers a rich, smooth sound with greater audio signal transparency and less distortion and noise.

VEGA’s extremely accurate Femto Master Clock technology provides superb precision that gives the DAC and upsampling circuit extremely low jitter and phase noise. To achieve this, the clock harnesses an aerospace-grade crystal oscillator, an ultra-low-noise linear power supply and temperature compensation technology that generates a jitter of only 82 fs, with a femtosecond equal to one millionth of one billionth of a second. Driven by such precision, VEGA easily reproduces musical details to the very last bit for rock-solid stereo imaging.
VEGA’s unique Flexible Filter Mode technology includes six selectable digital filters — four for PCM and two for DSD — that allow users to customize VEGA’s sound to suit their personal tastes. The filters are optimized for corresponding sampling rates, and were developed using subjective auditory and objective data models designed to optimize listening experiences for different types of music and formats. Easy-to-use controls for the filters are on the front panel and the remote control.

VEGA’s connection package includes five digital inputs — 2 coaxial jacks, 1 Toslink, 1 AES/EBU, and 1 USB buffered by AURALiC’s patented ActiveUSB™ technology. Its outputs, one pair each of RCA and XLR terminals, connect directly to an amplifier and allow precision volume settings with no dynamic loss.
